Augmentin for Sinus Infections
It may be unpleasant to think that bacteria lives all around you – in your mouth, between your teeth, on your skin, around your eyes, etc. – but the truth is that it does. And bad bacteria is always surrounding you, waiting for the opportunity to break through and infect you from the inside out. Sometimes it success in getting into your sinuses, and causes a sinus infection (or sinusitis). The symptoms may be mistaken for a simple cold or allergy attack: watery eyes, pain around the sinus region, and so on.
Once you acquire a sinus infection (however unwillingly), there are a few ways to get rid of it. One way may sound extreme: surgery. When the sinusitis is constant, however, surgery may be the best way to get relief from the pain and distraction of the infection. The surgical process will either drain away the region or else remove it completely.
The less severe option is to take medication, such as Augmentin. It isn’t quite convenient: the pill must be taken twice a day. It’s an antibiotic, so you have to make sure that you finish the whole prescription amount. Also be prepared for the side effects, which are mild but still important to remember: indigestion and vomiting are both common but not debilitating.
One last thing to try is to regulate your meals and try to determine if there is a connection between the food you eat and your symptoms. Food allergies are frequent causes of sinus infections, surprisingly.
